Flag orientation[編集]
I think the first four heraldic flags seem to be reversed (see https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wapen_van_de_provincie_Antwerpen.svg / https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wapen_van_West-Vlaanderen.svg / https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Wapen_van_Oost-Vlaanderen.svg / https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Blason_liege_prov.svg), i.e. all lions should face the flag poles. - This makes perfect sense in the real world, but in heraldry this would impede on the correct display of the heraldic insignia. Furthermore I followed a source image which also shows the flag in this way: File:Greater Coat of Arms of Belgium.png. Sodacan (talk) 14:18, 30 September 2013 (UTC)
Picture and blazon don't agree[編集]
Supports : deux lions léopardés au naturel, …
In French heraldry, "deux lions léopardés" means "two lions passant" which is not what we see here. What we see would be "deux léopards lionnés", i.e. "two lions (rampant) guardant". I don't know if the mentioned Royal Decree includes only the blazon or if it is illustrated by a picture of the great coat of arms, but in any case the use of lions passant as supporters would be highly unusual.
Le blasonnement ne correspond pas à la figure
« Deux lions léopardés » cela signifie passants et de profil. Ici au contraire, sur la figure ces animaux sont rampants et la tête de face, c'est-à-dire qu'il s'agit de « deux léopards lionnés ». J'ignore si l'A.R. 17/03/1837 mentionne uniquement le blasonnement, ou s'il est illustré par une représentation figurée des grandes armes, mais en tout cas l'utilisation comme supports d'animaux « passants » (c'est-à-dire une patte avant levée et les trois autres pattes au sol) serait pour le moins inhabituelle. — Tonymec (トーク) 06:40, 5 July 2023 (UTC)
