Hue

This has the same name (excepting the file extension) as the much older Image:Green check.png, and it's used accordingly on numerous projects (so it should carry that appearance). Yes check.svg has shading that makes it look significantly different. The light green version should be uploaded under a different name. —David Levy 03:10/03:28, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Objection to a change in green

I've been looking at a policy page with serious concerns about my eyes for a moment. Please use a different file for this purpose. The main idea behind using this file (Green check.svg) for the English Wikipedia's policy template is the distinguishability of its green from the blue guideline template. By reducing the difference to a blue checkmark, the file loses its purpose. Sure, we could adjust templates to use a different file, but from my point of view, this is not how Commons works. Substantial changes to a widely-used file may not be made by overwriting it (Commons:Overwriting_existing_files#Substantial_changes). ~ ToBeFree (留言) 07:55, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
