South American Error

The image as it stands now has an error, as there is a dark colored country in northern South America. Which is odd for a continent which has never hosted a Winter Games. See w:List_of_Olympic_Games_host_cities. — MrDolomite • Talk 19:13, 6 April 2011 (UTC)

The South American region highlighted is French Guiana, and it is highlighted because France has held the Winter Olympics. Having said that, I think it's misleading and inconsistent with the highlighting of other overseas territories. Guam and Puerto Rico don't seem to get credit for the United States' games.
