Hi cmglee,

How hard would it be to add more hours to this chart? I had a university tutor today say that within the tropics there are two longest days of the year, on the days when the sun is directly overhead. I know this not to be true, but I'd be keen to show them that the day length approaches 13 hours in the mid-tropics on the summer solstice, and that that day is longer than the days on which the sun passes over head.

Thanks so much for your great chart! Primal400 (留言) 04:21, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[回复]

@Primal400: It will be much easier to see based on the daylight duration calculators like this: [1], rather than reading from a fairly coarse-grained chart (adding another hourly line won't help much). Cherkash (留言) 08:30, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[回复]
Cherkash is correct. Solstices are moments in time, instead of dates. The date of a solstice falls on drifts from year to year as the number of days in a year is not an integer. Perhaps that's what your tutor meant. Cheers, cmɢʟee ⋅τaʟκ 09:32, 15 March 2019 (UTC)[回复]

Adding temperature too[编辑]

I'd like to know whether the temperature can be added to the graphic --188.86.242.179 10:51, 11 July 2019 (UTC)[回复]

The map doesn't actually show any geographical location on earth -- just bands of latitude -- so I don't think it'd make too much sense... AnonMoos (留言) 08:26, 13 July 2019 (UTC)[回复]
