@LaundryPizza03: Agreed. Perhaps I should clarify my reasoning for choosing these colours way back when. The criteria were:

• Able to differentiate six light colours against a white background easily. (Implies dark text against light background)
• Somewhat identifiable by most colour-blind people and when printed in grayscale. (Not easy but much lower priority)
• Six colours; no more, no less. (Except Antarctica)

One compromise involves using darker colours to make all six of them stand out better, but I would inevitably need to use white text against a darker shade, and that contradicts bullet point one.

I welcome suggestions to make a better palette, and to update the first letters if there are any changes since I last touched the image.

Also, more copies of a text label somewhat spoils the aesthetics of this map. =) Hytar (トーク) 23:13, 1 January 2021 (UTC)
