Error?

There is no use of using red and green colors. This two colors are never neutral. better look for colors, not already transporting a message - see also the book: how to lie with maps.

There also a few additional errors:

• Sudan is split in 2 countries now, with South Sudan being primarily christian and or local religions rather than Islam (map now shows South Sudan)
• East Timor is primarily catholic
• Some Indonesian islands are not islamic (in particular Bali being mostly Hindu and Flores being mostly catholic)

Yes, but when you calculate things "by country", all minorities and local variation vanish and you are left with a single mean value, expressing the most dominant parameter only; in this case the most dominant religion (of Shia or Shiite). RhinoMind (對話) 01:38, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

The Islam by country.svg map needs to be updated by reflecting the borders and percentages of Muslims of Sudan, South Sudan and East Timor.

The File:Islam by country.svg map needs to be updated by reflecting the borders and percentages of Muslims of Sudan, South Sudan and East Timor.

I have updated the map Islam by country.png (a copy of this SVG version) reflecting the borders of Sudan, South Sudan and East Timor and the percentages of the local Muslim populations in these three countries, based on the source: CIA World Factbook 2012. (Both of these map were created by using the CIA World Factbook as their source.)

However, Indonesia does not need any update, because the coloring is done only according to the percentage of Muslims in each country (and not according to other religions and regions of countries) as indicated by the name of the map.

Hey there, if you press on a country on the .svg you get to a site of the CIA. Don't know how to change the file so if somebody could be so kindly...
