Kitayama-zaki(cape) is obscured though examines whether to read as Kitayama-saki or to read as Kitayama-zaki. Iwai-saki was called Iwai-zaki before the war, and the writing changed into Iwai-saki before we are aware after the war. It depends on the change that the registration of address and the name of place on the map by Geographical Survey Institute. There are a lot of people who say Kitayama-zaki in Tohoku after the war, and to avoid overrapping with Kitayama-saki（cape） of Iyo City on Ehime Prefecture. It is necessary to explain that the person in the Ofunato-city says Oofunado,and the person relating to official duties of the city is writing as Ofunato. However, there are a lot of people who are still pronouncing Oofunado(Ohfunado) in Japan.
