Movable type or block print?

I have seen what I think were photocopies of a Jikji that made it obvious that the book had been printed with movable type, I think by having an upside down character somewhere in the text. To have that page on Commons would be better. Is this particular illustration also taken from a copy made with movable type? If so, why don't the different instances of characters that occur more than once resemble each other? Did the foundry use more than one mold per character to cast the type? Are you sure this particular copy isn't block-printed or handwritten? Unfortunately, I cannot remember whether the photocopies I've seen had equally dissimilar characters. Again, I'm not disputing that an old edition of the Jikji has been made with movable type. Dustsucker (talk) 04:04, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
