Not before 1945[编辑]

This is not merely a photo of La Hối. This is a derivative work aka a design comprised of a photo of him and some words saying "La Hối (1920-1945)", so this artwork must have been produced after he died.  Băng Tỏa  19:04, 2 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]

I am not the uploader of this file, but is adding two Chinese characters and several numbers difficult enough to generate a new copyright? I wonder what you understand about this?
First of all this photo must have been taken before 1945, another photo with his signature gives gives the date. 源義信 (留言) 02:25, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]
File:Musician La Hối.jpg is a photograph taken before La Hối died, yes. But this image File:La Hoi is (kinda like) an artwork, which consists of a photograph of La Hối (taken before he died) and some text added after he died. The text says "La Hối (1920-1945)" means that this artwork is designed after he died, so stating this image dated before 1945 (in the information box) is incorrect. I am not implying anything about its copyright status. Now you understand what I mean?  Băng Tỏa  15:45, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]
I understand what you mean. I thought at the time of transferring this files that the subject of this file was this photo, which must have been taken in 1945 or before. As for the words added to it later, I cannot know its date. I will try to correct the description, but I am not quite sure how it should be written. 源義信 (留言) 16:13, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]
I would like to ask you something more about this. I haven't been using this site for very long so I don't understand many of the concepts, so I would be grateful if you could answer.
Some photographs cropped from publications that usually have two dates (one for the date the photograph was taken, given in the captions and one for the date of publication of the book or newspaper). If I upload a photo in the public domain on Wikipedia and the file includes the caption from the publication (usually on the side of the photo), is the file considered to be an artwork derived from the photo? Because as I understand, the text in this La Hoi.jpg is just like a caption of the photo, so I assume the two cases are pretty much the same? 源義信 (留言) 16:36, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[回复]
