Is this a morning or an evening shot (could be added on the image page)? A masterpiece btw, only a pity it is downsampled to a pixel height of only 600 pixels, (which surprises me as you hate downsampling as far as I understand ;.). If it were larger I would nominate it on COM:FPC. -- Slaunger 21:45, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[回复]

The original is huge - (222MP, would print about 20' wide at 300dpi), but I'm not in the business of uploading commerically useful images to commons unless/until there is a provision for non-commercial licensing. I hate downsampling as an effort to improve images yes as it is a tool used too often by people who don't know how to properly use noise reduction and sharpening. 600px i chose as it is still useful for wikipedia pages but is not large enough for commercial printing. It was nominated on COM:FPC but failed due to size only - sad I think that too many people think a 4000x600 pano such of this is less feature worthy than any number of high rez shots of flowers and flies ;) Mfield 21:56, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[回复]
Ok, concerning the res I understand and respect your stance. At what time of day was it taken and with which camera and camera settings? I think the image page could benefit from having this info added since, naturally, it is not in the EXIF. -- Slaunger 22:03, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[回复]
I added some, I am up in Canada working so I haven't got the original files to pull the exact EXIF from until I get home next week. I think it was 32 shots with 300 F4L iirc. Mfield 22:16, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[回复]
BTW, I was triggered by this. -- Slaunger 22:10, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[回复]
I had actually reverted the addition of that image to the en:Los Angeles, California article as we have had so many people change the top image without discussion after there has been plenty on the talk page. Mfield 22:16, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[回复]
