"Edition war": according with the sources (Herman Rosenthal; J.G. Lipman; Vasili Rosenthal; L. Wygodsky; M. Mysh; Abraham Galante (1905) «Russia» dans The Jewish Encyclopedia: Vol. 10, Philipson–Samoscz, New York, N.Y. : Funk & Wagnalls, pp. 531) and according with the original version of this map itself, the Pale of Settlement was an Eastern limit and the Western one was the border of the Russian Empire. But user "Mathiasrex" refuses to understand it and wants absolutely to exclude Congress-Poland from this area, despite the fact that the Pale included all of Poland-Lituania from before 1790, that Congress-Poland was a part of it, and had a big Jewish population.
