This is wrong structure - on nitrogens are only hydrogens, not methyls

That's true, i have only seen this in one source from 1923 which is wrong (propably assumpt because of reactands in sythesis) for correct structure see also: Dye standards, Part II.8: New Fuchsin (CI 42520) In: Histochemical Journal.
