Title of the engraving
[编辑]The modern source from which this was taken called it "Peace descending from the Temple of Commerce". Checking the original source in The London Magazine, to which a link has been added, one sees that the original does not have that title, but a verse:
When fell Debate & civil Wars shall cease,
Commerce shall spread her Sails o'er all the Seas.
ENGLAND unrivall'd in the liberal Arts
Shall bear her Genius to remotest Parts,
Take her her Breast, AMERICA again,
Thou may'st defy imperious FRANCE & SPAIN.
