This painting is described as "The mosque of Borurssa". This name seemed strange to me, so I searched google, where I saw that it does appear many times, but always in connection to this painting. There doesn't seem to be a town, for example, with this name.

So, my suspicion is that Borurssa is a corruption of the name Broussa, which is the turkish form of the name Prousa, a city in North-Western Asia Minor. Indeed, the same painter, Jean Leo Gerome, has also another painting, named "The Grand piscine of Brussa".

But as I am new to wikipedia (and although I am also aware of the birth deficit of this wikipedia, namely that everyone corrects everyone!!), I preferred not to add my correction, but rather to write this note here, in case someone has a better knowledge on this.
