This image has the title "Crown prince of Sweden" in the Eric Matson donation. Bertil was never crown prince. I now think this could be Category:Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 14:01, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]

The photo is clearly recognizable as Prince Bertil, not Gustaf Adolf, to anyone familiar with the faces of the brothers, which were distinctly different though similar. No doubt whatsoever and no further theories necessary. If there had been any doubt, I would definitely not have made the change in category and the note on the file page (btw Gustaf Adolf was never Crown Prince either). It is not my desire or policy to change such things unless I am sure of what I am doing (several previous examples available on request). I have a private, 500-volume historical library at my disposal when editing WP and I really try to be careful. Someone handy with the procedure could change the name of the file. That would be constructive input. EmilEikS (talk) 15:41, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
The claims of expertise do not convince - Category:Gustaf VI Adolf of Sweden was crown prince untill 1950 when he became king. This photo may have been made when he visited some archeological dig in Palestine. Do EmilEiks's 500 books say anything about a visit by Bertil to Palestine? /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 17:29, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
You are really mixing them up now. The file was categorized under the son Gustaf Adolf of the king you are writing about. The king was born in 1882 and hardly looked like this in his twenties-early thirties. The son was never Crown Prince. Why don't you ask another 2 people who know what the princes of Sweden look like, since you don't? Why don't you email it to the Royal Palace? They'll be glad to ID it for you, helpful as they always are. Whether or not the photo was taken in Palestine, or if Bertil was there in his 20's-30's, is irrelevant. The face in the photo is Bertil's. EmilEikS (talk) 20:00, 12 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
If Bertil was not in Palestine, this is not Bertil. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 12:20, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
And your opinion is based on what, please? Were you present in 1935 or so? EmilEikS (talk) 12:23, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
Here is Prince Bertil and here is his brother. Take your pick! EmilEikS (talk) 12:28, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
And here is their father. A person who is known to have had a keen interest in archeological sites. I am quite certain that he was in the Middle East visiting digs. And the provanance of this photo is the "American Colony" in Jerusalem. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 13:44, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
And does this photo look to you like it was taken around 1906? In Palestine? Come on! EmilEikS (talk) 17:13, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
I now consulted a library with more than 500 books, and I found that Bertil was in the area at the time. He was in the Swedish Navy, on a voyage to the Indian Ocean. Maybe this photo was made in February 1932 in Egypt. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 16:43, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
Don't worry, I won't be expecting you to apologize. You never do for all this kind of tribulations and heartache you put so many Wikimedia users through time and time again. Totally without purpose, except to provide you with a forum to be - belligerent (mild choice of words). Please try to stay away from any and all work I do on the Wikimedia projects. Please! Please! Please! There are so many other things you can contribute with besides following me and others around through our contribution logs to start pointless and endless arguments like this in your always sarcastic style. You literally contaminate my efforts and interest with this kind of garbage, and that makes me feel so foolish even trying to do good work here. EmilEikS (talk) 17:13, 13 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
Actually, I uploaded this file, so it is a bit strange that you ask me to stay away from you. But I agree, this is Bertil, and the photo was made in Palestine in December 1934 when Ingrid and Bertil were with their parents on their voyage in the Orient. I will reupload under a correct name. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 09:31, 15 July 2009 (UTC)[回覆]
