Error?

That dot indicates the color for binary value 1. Usually 1 is black and 0 is white. However, I've seen QR code generators that allow to choose one color for binary 0, a second color for binary 1 and a third color for the (center and frame of) the orientation and alignment patterns. Well, even then the part of the alignment pattern that is classically white is painted in the binary 0 color, so you would not need that dot to determine which color is 0 (and the opposite color is 1). Sorry,I got that wrong. ISO/IEC 18004:2000 calls it "dark module" and says it is always dark (binary 1 in that norm) and does not belong to the format information. I saw an image where this module was called "color module". I guess from this name I invented the above wrong explanation and finally believed that I must have read it somewhere.
