What are the reliable sources of this image? This map shows that the Catholic Church dominated in the Ruthenian, Volhynian, Brest Litovsk and Nowogródek voivodeships but that contradicts many other sources according to which main religion of these voivodeships was Orthodox. Also there is a big difference between two Catholic Churches, the Roman Catholic Church and the Greek Catholic Church. The Greek Catholic Church didn't dominate in this voivodeships in 1573, because for example Przemysl Orthodox Eparchy became Greek Catholic only in 1692, Kholm (Chelm) Orthodox Eparchy in 1650s, Lviv Orthodox Eparchy in 1700, Lutsk Orthodox Eparchy in 1702. According to most data sources, majority of churches in the Western Ukraine (former Ruthenian and Volhynian voivodeships) were Orthodox until 17st/18st centuries and later Greek Catholics until 19th century. So this image is misleading. ZxcvU (對話) 10:20, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[回覆]

  • To prove my statement, I recommend to read a book "Ziemie ruskie. Ruś Czerwona" by the Polish historian Aleksander Jabłonowski. In the second chapter (pages 179-180, 183-184) of this book, he provides some religious statistics for Red Ruthenia (Ruthenian and Belz voivodeships), where you can see that there were 1,735 Orthodox churches (1,490 in villages and 245 in cities) and only 229 Roman Catholic churches (102 in villages and 127 in cities) in the region in the 16th century. So I'm changing the map according to the real situation, that was then. --ZxcvU (對話) 21:21, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[回覆]
