colours and names

Are you aware that not only are you tagging properly referenced roundels (with correct official colors as per government specifications) in preference to unreferenced and blatently incorrect roundels, but the files you are choosing to superceed them with are not even named correctly? The roundels are NOT specific to the USAAF but to all services including the US Navy, USMC and USCG and need to be named accordingly. Additionally colour photos are NOT a reliable means of determining colour - I can find a colour photo which will show almost any colour as almost any colour I want, however the actual colours were dark and dull, not the overbright colours you seem to so zealously favour. Restored ww2 aircraft are not a reliable reference, especially given how flexible about the accuracy of the markings most restorers are.NiD.29 (talk) 02:44, 7 June 2012 (UTC)

What does not retractive mean? I am going by the period colour specs which I provided. Do I need to send you scans? A restored glossy airplane used on the airshow circuit is the least reliable reference possible. In addition, using a photo (which can be affected by all sorts of variables is OR.
