This image is incorrect - 1 RIFLES is not part of the Royal Marines.

No it is CORRECT- the 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines also holds Operational Control of three attached army units:
  • 1st Battalion The Rifles (which is due to join the Brigade fully on 1 April 2008)
  • 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery, based at Royal Citadel, Plymouth
  • 24 Commando Regiment Royal Engineers, based at Chivenor
Therefore the graphic is correct, --Noclador 11:22, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[返信]
This image is the command structure of the Corps of Royal Marines, not of 3 Commando Brigade. According to your own colouring system, artillery should be in yellow and engineers should be in lavender. You have also included units that are not part of 3 Cdo Bde (FPGRM, 1 Assault Grp etc). Clearly you have meant this as the structure of the Corps, not of 3 Cdo Bde, ergo the army units should be deleted.
I just had a look at de:Royal Marines#Organisation, en:3 Commando Brigade#Organisation and en:Royal Marines#3 Commando Brigade... they state
  • the German article says that 1st Battalion The Rifles will and 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery & 24 Commando Regiment Royal Engineers are fully part of the 3rd Commando Brigade.
  • the 3 Brig. article states that 1st Battalion The Rifles, 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery & 24 Commando Regiment Royal Engineers are attached Army units
  • the Royal Marines article says that the Brigade holds operational control of the attached army units from Royal Artillery and Royal Engineers and that the 1 Bn The Rifles will come under OpCon of the brigade from 1 Apr 08.
As you say, this graphic should represent the corps with all its attached units, I agree with you that it will be better to change the color of the artillery and engineer units and also to put (attached) to the army units. --Noclador 11:47, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[返信]
