Ranges that include missing elements, specifically, 42–44, 60–62, 83–90, and 90–92, should be replaced with dotted or dashed lines to indicate missing elements. Perhaps dotted lines could be used to indicate elements missing because they are not or almost not naturally occurring (43-Technetium and 61-Promethium) and dashed lines to indicate elements missing because the artist chose to omit them. —Anomalocaris (talk) 20:18, 6 July 2013 (UTC)

Why are lines shown linking the elements? - the data points in this graph are, by definition, discrete and lines linking adjacent elements seems to indicate a between-element trend that cannot exist. The missing elements Promethium and Technetium demonstrate the wrongness of the trend lines in this graph - on casual inspection, it looks like the alternating pattern reverses in the interval between those two elememts, and on a slightly less casual inspection, the trend line implies that the missing elements' abundances would lie somewhere between their respective neighbours - which is absolutely not the case. --Crispyhull (留言) 11:20, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
