The image is physically wrong[編集]

The image is physically wrong of two reasons:

1. The crescent covers more than 180 degrees (plus about halv a minute of arc which is the size of the sun's "disc") as seen from the center of the moon.
2. As the moon is a solid and not transparent object, no star can possibly shine through its "disc".

Well, there is of course a third reason as well:

3. The line separating the illuminated part of the moon from the "dark side" should of course no be circular, but rather elliptic.
