Colombia should be light blue. Ron 1987 (talk) 14:58, 4 April 2009 (UTC)[返信]

fixed, thanks for catching it. Wikignome0529 (talk) 17:42, 10 April 2009 (UTC)[返信]

Ecuador[編集]

has implemented civil unions. —Nightstallion (?) 20:36, 1 November 2009 (UTC)[返信]

Expansion to Latin America[編集]

I think it would be necesary to expand this map to the whole Latin America, no only South America, including Mexico and the countries of Center America. It will help to articles as Same sex marrige in Mexico, recently passed, or LGBT-related legislation in Latin America and Caribe. Thanks in advance. --Osado (talk) 22:25, 22 December 2009 (UTC)[返信]

Peru[編集]

Peru should be yellow. See [1] [2] Ron 1987 (talk) 01:02, 27 July 2010 (UTC)[返信]

Brazil[編集]

Brazil just legalized civil unions. [3] Please change the blue shading!

Venezuela[編集]

Venezuela should be gray, the law the Assembly was discussing only provided anti-discrimination rights for LGBT people, it didnt include anything related to same sex unions. [4] --Freddy eduardo (talk) 05:34, 7 May 2011 (UTC)[返信]

Could somebody correct this? --Freddy eduardo (talk) 22:44, 18 January 2012 (UTC)[返信]

Bolivia[編集]

The World Same Sex Legislation page has a same sex marriage bill proposed in Bolivia with a reliable source, therefore I think it is appropriate to shade Bolivia Yellow considering that if the legislation is introduced and passes, it would be the first time there would be legal recognition of LGBT couples in the country. --chase1493 (talk) 01:34, 12 March 2012 (UTC)[返信]

Alagoas, Bahia, Piauí and São Paulo[編集]

These states should be dark blue. See [5], [6], [7]. Ron 1987 (talk) 00:15, 31 December 2012 (UTC)[返信]

Red countries[編集]

I think we sould get rid of the color red in this map, its misleading. There are some countries that have approved civil unions but also ban same-sex marriage in the constitution, so the color red cant be apply to all the other countries where it should. I proposed to get rid of it and just let them gray, or add something small oven the country's territory, like a little red star, that way we could include it too in the other countries. Also, could someone add Santa Catarina and Paraibo? --Freddy eduardo (talk) 18:08, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[返信]

Uruguay[編集]

President Mujica just signed the bill into law, please update http://archivo.presidencia.gub.uy/sci/leyes/2013/05/mec_913.pdf --Ignaciojd3 (talk) 14:08, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[返信]

In fact, it was signed on may 3rd. I've updated the map.--Zeroth (talk) 14:42, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[返信]
Why you removed Rondônia? Ron 1987 (talk) 18:53, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[返信]

States in Brazil[編集]

The last 3 brazilian states to legalise same-sex marriage are Rondônia as of April 26, 2013, Santa Catarina and Paraíba as of April 29, 2013. All the relating articles have been appropriately edited and sourced. Even the world map that shows the recognicion of same-sex marriage worldwide has been edited to include those 3 states. It's time for the same thing to happen on this map. These states should change colour to deep blue.

Columbia[編集]

Columbia should now be dark blue.

Potential Upcoming Map Changes[編集]

Venezuela - There is a marriage bill pending before parliament, activists think it has a good chance at passing. The only thing we have to wait for is when this vote will take place, if ever.

Chile - The life partnership act has passed the Senate and now is pending before the Chamber of Deputies. It will more than likely pass. Marriage might not be far off either.

Bolivia - A partnership scheme that will extend benefits to same-sex couples has passed the Senate and is now awaiting a vote in the Chamber of Deputies. This seems like my surprise of the year in terms of countries moving forward. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Peru - A Civil Union bill is expected to be voted upon this month, not sure which way it will go; I believe there are three or four different bills that deal with the issue.

Extra Note - Should the bill in Bolivia pass, we're going to need to have a discussion about whether we want to add stripes to the map. Personally, I think that adding stripes is a bit of a redundancy considering marriage is illegal regardless of whether it is prohibited by statute or a constitutional amendment. I won't be adding stripes until there is consensus and the light blue will be the superceding color until that is established.

Chile[編集]

Chilean Civil Unions receives final approval The Chilean Senate approved the measure by a 25-6 vote margin with three abstentions. The bill passed in the country’s House of Representatives by a 78-9 vote margin. (January 28, 2015)

President Michelle Bachelet has said she will sign the bill — under which unmarried heterosexual couples would also receive legal recognition — into law.

"Chilean Civil Unions receives [sic] final approval" and "President Michelle Bachelet has said she will sign the bill" is contradictory. The bill doesn't receive final approval until she actually signs the bill, which she hasn't. Until then, Chile should not be colored blue. Prcc27 (トーク) 05:38, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[返信]
The Congress approved the bill. President Michelle Bachelet now has to sign and promulgate the law ( supposedly March 2015). Civil Unions was a priority for Bachelet government. Also the support of Civil Unions is huge among politicians and Chileans, so there is no doubt this is going to become law. This is from the Chilean government official website, where the new law is explained. http://www.gob.cl/2015/01/30/acuerdo-de-union-civil-nuevos-beneficios-para-convivientes/

  • Important to mention.

-Recognition of civil unions celebrated abroad. With the passage of this law, now it recognized in Chile, civil unions and same sex marriages celebrated abroad, producing the same effect as a Civil Union.Fhebynes (トーク) 05:53, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[返信]

The fact of the matter is that it currently is not law because it wasn't signed by the president yet (which makes it a bill). Congress approving a bill doesn't make it a law; only the president can do that. Chile shouldn't be blue until Civil Unions are legal (either "permitted by law; lawful" or "of or relating to law"). Bill ≠ law. Prcc27 (トーク) 05:25, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[返信]

In Venezuela the recognition of same sex couples not exist.[編集]

In Venezuela the recognition of same sex couples not exist. The information about of the state Mérida with the same sex couples is wrong.

Latin America vs. South America map[編集]

Now that both Canada and the United States have full same-sex marriage, I suggest to give prominence to the Latin America and the Caribbean map of LGBT laws. This map has been neglected in the English Wikipedia in favor of separate North and South America maps, and today it's only present in some Spanish Wikipedia articles. I think it would be better to highlight that map in order to better show the common regional challenges that all Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America share, and that are now different from the United States and Canada. Here is the link to the Commons file of that map: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Latin_America_homosexuality_laws.svg.jpg --Polux91 (トーク) 06:37, 27 June 2015 (UTC)[返信]

Prohibition of marriage in Venezuela[編集]

The Constitution of Venezuela NOT prohibit the marriage of same sex couples. The Supreme Court decided in 2008 that "the Constitution does not prohibit or condemn the unions between same sex". Please, correct the map. [1]

2017: Same-sex marriages are allowed on Falkland Islands[編集]

On Falkland Islands same-sex marriages are allowed by parliament vote.

Falkland Islands should be marked in dark blue colour in map. --88.70.214.51 12:48, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[返信]

Corregir: En Chile existe la Unión Civil desde 2015[編集]

Saludos. Wikiedro (トーク) 17:37, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[返信]
