Identification

The current text is as follows:
The officer pictured is Captain Raymond W. Alexander, Sr. and the photo was taken in 1942. Note: This officer’s rank insignia is only that of an ensign or Lt (jg). The family of Lt. Clifford H Kern Jr believes this is a photo of him aboard the USS Kingfish.
The original identification was made in an edit in July 2011. No source was given for this identification. The subsequent one was made in February 2018. Again, no source was given.
Given both the lack of sources & the clearly conflicting identifications, I'm reverting the description to the one given to the photo in the National Archives Catalog: "Officer at periscope in control room of submarine., ca. 1942" — G026r (留言) 22:53, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
