Suggestions re text content[编辑]
@Femkemilene: and others: The graphical content is, of course, exceptional! I do suggest:
- I suggest a new title, "Change in global average temperature".
- - Temperature change is technically more accurate.
- - The average readers isn't interested in the particular reference period 1850-1900. Alternatively, "
... relative to pre-industrial era
" would be OK to add to the suggested title.
- If "...last two millennia" is removed from the title, change the horizontal axis to read "Year".
- I suggest adding a plus sign "+" before 0.5 and 1.0 to emphasize increase in temperature rather than an absolute temperature of 1 °C.
- If appropriate, move "Observed" closer to the instrumental temperature trace, and right-justify it to allow for leftward expansion in translations.
These suggestions are for your consideration. Thanks for all your work, and I hope you are feeling better. RCraig09 (留言) 23:19, 7 December 2021 (UTC)
- I'm neutral on the new title
- I'm not keen on deviating from the standard notation to add a plus. Not a strong opinion, but I find it a bit more ugly with a plus
- I don't know how to do right-alignment, but I can play around with it using my newly downloaded Inkscape. Femkemilene (留言) 09:49, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
- Inkscape is very good for visual editing, but it adds a lot of "stuff" that's not necessary (like unnecessarily defining values that are default, like opacity="1.0"). It inflates file size. It may be easier to use a text editor to right-justify "Observed" as follows:
- change
text-anchor:start;" transform="rotate(-0, 266.669668, 94.960216)" x="266.669668" y="94.960216" id="trsvg26"><tspan id="trsvg12">Observed</tspan>
- to
text-anchor:end;" transform="rotate(-0, 266.669668, 94.960216)" x="350" y="85" id="trsvg26"><tspan id="trsvg12">Observed</tspan>
- change

- ✔ Done!
- FYI the new SVG code for the English-language part is:

- I left in a lot of code that I think is unnecessary, as it's not hurting anything other than inflating file size a bit. I feared the SVG translator tool might want or need it for some reason. I didn't make any other changes I suggested above.—RCraig09 (留言) 22:14, 14 December 2021 (UTC)
