"Attempts by historians and collectors to identify the original designers of these toys have not been successful"
[編輯]Obviously I can't examine them, but I would say with reasonable certainty that the bear is a Steiff model. I received one of similar design in 1974 or 1975. The proportions are slightly different, but the materials, construction, design of the ears, nose, mouth, and paws is almost identical, down to the colouration. Steiff bears are very distinctive in their design. Of course, everyone knows that Steiff animals are always accompanied by a button in the ear, and have been since 1904, which could be used to tell, assuming the button hasn't been removed, which could well be the case. I suspect the other animals may be Steiffs as well. If they were made specially for Harrod's, perhaps they came without buttons at the store's request, or the buttons were removed there; but even if they were sold with buttons intact they could have been removed by Christopher Robin's parents.
