Hello, I am one of the administrators at Wikipedia , the online free encyclopedia, and I was wondering if we could possibly use your image of "Tropic Thunder Hut" (http://flickr.com/photos/kanaka/942906667/in/set-72157601040919704/) for the article on the film and possibly others. Right now Wikipedia is one of the top ten most-viewed websites on the Internet, and it is possible that thousands of people could see your image over time. Additionally, we would give you the credit on the image's page and include a link back to your Flickr page (if you wish), which would drive more viewers to your profile. If you give us permission, I would upload the image for use on the page en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropic_Thunder and possibly other articles.

We can only use your image if you are willing to grant permission for it to fall under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Text_of_the_GFDL), the Creative Commons Attribution (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/), or the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike License (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/). It would be your choice of how you want your image covered, so if you do want to allow the use of the image, take a look at the three licenses. The pages state that anyone will have the right to share and, where appropriate, to update your image, while giving you credit. Additionally, the articles state that other people might crop the image further, but you would still have your name and Flickr account as the author of the image. For example, it would look something like en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Samuel_L._Jackson_%282006_Pebble_Beach%29.jpg

Let me know if the images can be used for the free encyclopedia whenever it is convenient for you. If you do choose so, please reply back saying "I agree to release the image "Tropic Thunder Hut" under the terms of the GFDL license/Creative Commons Attribution/Creative Commons Attribution Sharealike" (whichever one of the three licenses you want to pick). Hi, you can put any of my "Tropic Thunder" movie tagged photos for Wikipedia. Please put the link for the flickr page on the picture itself, or somewhere thats appropriate, and that the photo is by Kanaka. All my photos are already labeled for creative commons attribution and noncomercial. So, therefore I agree to release the image "Tropic Thunder Hut" under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution, and Creative Commons noncomercial.

Thank you for getting back to me so fast, I appreciate it. We can only use your image if it does not have the noncommercial requirement (for more info see here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags#Guidelines). We could use it if it was released under the Creative Commons Attribution, and I would include the link and your name on the image's page (similar to the other images on the page). I hope that this is possible, but if you need further clarification, please let me know and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
