Taiwan[编辑]

I just to point out that the image as of 2009-02-04 shows Taiwan (Republic of China) as a member of the UN, it was replaced with the People's Republic of China in 1973 so after that date it should not be in blue --24.14.148.180 17:01, 6 February 2009 (UTC)[回复]

I agree, the map should be tweaked to handle the Communist/Free China history. — Preceding unsigned comment was added by 63.247.175.195 (talk) 15:42, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[回复]

Non-Self Governing Territories[编辑]

I noticed that there are several small islands, Puerto Rico and New Caledonia being the easiest to see, that are not coloured in. Now for New Caledonia I'm guessing this is due to its presence on the Non-Self Governing Territories list. Puerto Rico, on the other hand has been taken off that list and its interests at the UN are ostensibly represented by the US.--Lairor (talk) 00:00, 21 May 2009 (UTC)[回复]

Not animated as thumbnail[编辑]

Unfortunately, this image does not animate unless viewed in full resolution. However other GIF images (like File:EC-EU-enlargement animation.gif) do animate at every resolution/size. Could anyone please fix this, so it does also animate as thumbnail or in media viewer? --SelfishSeahorse (留言) 15:22, 22 May 2015 (UTC)[回复]

Israel and Palestine[编辑]

Israel and Palestine are drawn as if the West Bank (and Gaza Strip?) was part of Israel until 1994, and after that is separated from Israel.

However, this is not true: the West Bank and Gaza Strip were part of the British Mandate until 1948; were occupied by Jordan and Egypt (correspondingly) until 1967; were occupied by Israel in 1967, and are still not part of the State of Israel. No change was done in 1994 (the Palestinian Authority (autonomy) was founded, but the West Bank and Gaza Strip remaind occupied by Israel, and not part of Israel; and in 2005 Gaza Strip was evacuated by Israel).

(To be precise, Jordan annexed the West Bank between 1950-1967, but this annexation was not recognized by most of the international community.)

In conclusion: what really should be drawn is that since 1948, the West Bank and Gaza Strip are separated from Israel, and they are in gray (not members of the UN). This means that this area should be drawn since 1948 like it is drawn now (after 1994). (Except 1948 itself, when Israel was not in the UN, but was only accepted in 1949.) Before 1948, no such change to the map is needed. – rotemlissTalk 08:33, 26 August 2015 (UTC)[回复]
