I have a suggestion regarding this map and the one referring to the States. I think the difference between them isn't immediately evident, that is, which country's subdivisions each map refers to.

What I'd suggest would be: adding the outline of the subdivisions for the relevant country (in a very light shade of gray, for instance, to not to draw too much attention from the main subject of the image) and/or drawing the boundary with a thicker line, extending into the country, perhaps with a fadeout for aesthetic reasons. I think a fadeout width comparable to that of the Alaska Panhandle or slightly wider would be ok. Perhaps the fadeout could extend deeper into subdivisions with too short border lines (New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Idaho).

Another possible variation would be to draw only the boundaries of the subdivisions which actually border the other country; however, for Canada that would practically leave out only the NT/Nunavut boundary, while for the US the map would look awful (for my taste, at least).

Once the provinces or states are drawn, their ranks could be placed either inside them or opposite them on the other country, perhaps inside a circle of the appropriate color (red or yellow). Amorim Parga (talk) 22:53, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[返信]
