The photographer
[編集]Nowhere on his veteran page does Matthias say that he made this photo. He was not a Navy photographer, he was a rescuer. The page shows a collection of photos, many of which were obviously made by others. So I will remove this again. Also, that page is not the source of this file, as this one has more pixels. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 11:45, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- The image byline is with his name. This is quite ambiguous. Don't you think a Navy rescuer is not able to photograph? Besides he was assigned to the "Aviation Warfare Systems Operator" group. You should read the pages you keep on linking. --High Contrast (talk) 11:56, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- That is not a "by"-line. It is just his name, the person whose page the photo is on. Look at all the photos where he is in! On this page the photo (with the same pixel dimensions as here) is given with a different name. Probably also just an uploader. /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 12:42, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- This is your interpretation - the caption of that file credits him. Debilitate this without presuming. This page is a private image collection. You cannot rely on that. --High Contrast (talk) 12:51, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- This page claims no authorship; the caption just says: "My first underway periods were on USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71 in the summer and fall of 1987. We were aboard for sea trials, flight deck cerification, and this shock trial that was conducted on 19 September.". Matthias Russ's album is also just a private image collection... /Pieter Kuiper (talk) 14:17, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
- I know that page and stupidly according to the recent circumstance it contains no proof for PD-USGov. Nevertheless it is possible that the image is taken by PH2 Norr or by PH2 Dale. But a certainity is not given nor is VIRIN. --High Contrast (talk) 16:30, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
