Wider Shield

I am noticing that on sign bridges depicting US 1-9, that the shield is wider than the one here. I also notice that the font used on the wider shield is Series D, not Series C. Create and upload new version? Vishwin60 02:20, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

I had noted the same, when I had traveled that route years ago. I owe an apology here: I first noted this version (the wide one) when I visited a route that intersects it (namely, Palisades Interstate Parkway). With this new version, I had been attempting to change that article so it would display this 1-9 shield at the same height (we do this in New York route articles by using a 25px width, as opposed to a 20px width for "square" shields). When I try it though, the 1-9 shield disappears. I'm investigating.... Fwgoebel 00:03, 29 December 2006 (UTC)
