Very cool photo. This is not actually the German V-2 engine though. It is the North American Aviation engine XLR-41-NA-1. It was an improved American version of the V-2 engine, which is much more compact than the actual German design. For example, it uses a solid catylist to generate steam from hydrogen peroxide, while the V-2 engine had tanks of H2O2 and a liquid catylist.
