Multiple re-uploads failed to update thumbnails[編集]
It appears as if an old Wikimedia bug from mid-2011 has returned. When an image is replaced, the thumbnail cache doesn't get updated and cannot be force-updated by purging the page. The only way to get new thumbnails immediately is to call for a new, never-used size of the image in an article, even if differs from the previous thumbnail size only by one pixel larger or smaller. I was baffled by the apparent lack of difference in the uploaded image, and thinking I had inadvertently re-uploaded the earlier unedited image, I uploaded or reverted this image file several times yesterday in a vain attempt to get the new thumbnails to appear. The only thing to do for now is wait and see if the system will eventually update the cache over the next 24-72 hours. — Quicksilver@ 05:33, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
