OFLC-NZ and OFLN-AUS

en:Office of Film and Literature Classification (Australia) and en:Office of Film and Literature Classification (New Zealand) are different bodies with different ratings (see en:Video game content rating system#Comparison) so the countries should be different colours. Germany

Germany is both blue (PEGI) and yellow (USK) on the map. But as far as I know, only USK counts for Germany. The reason that games sold in Germany can have a PEGI rating on the packaging as well is that there are games with multilingual packaging/manuals in Europe and also games with German text only, but which are also sold in Austria and Switzerland which use the PEGI rating. As you can see here, PEGI ratings have no official status in Germany. There are surely European countries who have no official rating system at all, but which also get packaging with PEGI ratings, e.g. Russia, but they aren't official there, too. We won't colour them blue on the map, either. --Grandy02 (talk) 18:27, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

Germany should be both blue (PEGI) and yellow (USK) on the map. Strictly, the PEGI rating with its more specific declarations is an information only (particularly for parents) and is used in this way in most European countries including Germany. It does not conflict with USK which is binding for German dealers and effects legal and practical consequences. These days, both ratings are indicated for all software anyway.
