Aceldama or Akeldama is the Aramaic name for a place in Jerusalem associated with Judas Iscariot, one of the followers of Jesus. In Aramaic hagel dema signifies "field of blood". Christian tradition connects it with the death of Judas Iscariot: the money he received for betraying Jesus is supposed to have bought. One tradition tells he bought the land, another tells the preachers did. He is said to be buried there, as it was bought to bury strangers.
