English: The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was designated AD with the U.S. Navy (and with it U.S. Marine Corps) until 18 September 1962 when, with the introduction of the Tri-Service aircraft designation system, all Skyraiders still in service were redesignated A-1. The models AD-1 to AD-3 were not in service anymore and therefore received no new designation.
