English: SS Admiral was an excursion steamboat operating on the Mississippi River from the Port of St. Louis. The vessel had a 1930s streamlined, Art Deco style, similar to the MV Kalakala and in contrast to the "gingerbread" ornamentation of more traditional Mississippi passenger and pleasure steamers.

- Built by: Dubuque, IA
- Date of completion: 1907
History[edit]
- 1907 Named: ALBATROS for the Louisiana & Mississippi Valley Transfer Co. and operated at Vicksburg, MS.
- 1937 Sold to Streckfus Steamers
- 1940 Rebuilt with a million-dollar Art Deco steel skin, entirely air-conditioned for 4,400 passengers, on the ship. Renamed: ADMIRAL
- 1974 Converted to diesel propulsion
- 1981 Sold to a Pittsburgh businessman who removed its diesel engines and announced a plan to move the boat there, but sold the ship to Pinnacle Entertainment in St. Louis
- 1987 Reopened as an entertainment center managed by Six Flags Corp.
- 1979 Hull weakness discovered by the Coast Guard led to the banishment from cruising the river.
- 1994 Refashioned as the President Casino.
- 2010 Sold to St. Louis Marine for scrap.
- 19.07.2011 Towed to St. Louis Marine facility at Columbia, Ill. A decision has to be made on what to do with the boat's hull (2011).
