The Baba Yara Stadium is a 1957 built and 1959 opened multi-functional sports venue in Kumasi (Ghana) with a capacity of 51,100 places (own statement: 60,000). It was constructed by the British enterprise United African Company (UAC) in 1957, however reconstructed in 1971, 1978 and 2008. The stadium is named after Baba Yara (1936-1969), a Ghanaian football player from Kumasi. The Baba Yara Staduim is the home play ground of the Ghanaian football clubs Asante Kotoko SC and King Faisal Babes.
