Banjolin is a name applied to several different types of stringed instruments:
- 4 string banjo with mandolin tuning
(Note: 8 string version is called Mandolin-banjo or Manjo) [1] - 'younger brother' of the tenor banjo, also called Banjeaurine.
- a type of banjo patented by John Farris in 1885, [2]
available then in soprano, alto, tenor, and bass models. - a type of bowed fretless zithers[3]
