English: Borobudur stupas are enclosures of Buddha statues on the upper terraces of the structure.
Many titles of photographs simply state 'stupas of Borobudur' - this is generic for the structures found on the Top Terrace.
  • A set of stone stupas encircle the central main stupa
  • The central stupa's condition in photographs is a good date indicator of ruin and restoration.
  • View - The area of the Stupas on the upper terrace has a commanding view of Mount Merapi and Mount Merbabu to the east and the Menoreh Hills to the west, and Mount Sumbing to the north west. To the north and south is the Kedu Plain
