The Brahma Jinalaya is a Jain temple dedicated to Tirthankara Mahavira. Likely a part of a medieval era Jain Basadi (a Jaina settlement), the beautifully carved temple shows the significant presence of Jainism in north Karnataka prior to the arrival of Delhi Sultanate raids and the establishment of Deccan Sultanates in this region.

The temple was rediscovered in ruins and in an abandoned state in the 19th-century, covered in shrubs and weeds, serving as "home to a large colony of bats" when Henry Cousens visited it. Now cleaned, restored and under protection of the Archaeological Survey of India. The temple is notable for reverentially combining Jaina religious iconography (Tirthankaras and Jaina deities) with Hindu religious iconography (Gajalakshmi, Brahma, Saraswati and other Hindu deities).
