English: D9008 entered service with British Railways in July 1961 and was named The Green Howards in July 1961. It was renumbered into the TOPS series as 55008 in February 1974 and withdrawn on 31 December 1981. Its cab was acquired when the locomotive was being scrapped at Doncaster Works in August 1982 and cab is now mounted on a road trailer and has been fitted out with computer simulation equipment.
