This is one of two lighthouses with the official name "Cape George Light" in Nova Scotia -- see Canadian Atlantic Coast Light List numbers 840 (this one) and 892 (the other one).
This category is for the one on the south shore of Bras d'Or Lake on Cape Breton Island.
The other is 85 kilometres (53 miles) away on the Cape at the northwest end of Canso Strait. It is also a red and white.
