The silver gull (Chroicocephalus (Larus) novaehollandiae) is the most common gull seen in Australia and the only one usually seen on Bramble Bay. It has adapted very well to urban environments. It can be very bold, surrounding picnickers in noisy flocks waiting for a treat to be thrown. When this occurs it is every gull for itself.
