Deutsch: Coalbrookdale ist eine Ortschaft in der Unitary Authority Telford and Wrekin nahe Shrewsbury in England. Sie ist eine der Geburtsstätten der Industriellen Revolution. 1709 pachtete Abraham Darby I das dortige Hüttenwerk und verbesserte die Verhüttung des Eisenerzes durch den Einsatz von Stein- statt Holzkohle. Sein Enkel, Abraham Darby III, errichtete unweit von Coalbrookdale mit der 1781 eröffneten Ironbridge die erste Eisenbrücke der Welt. Auch heute noch ist in der Gegend Industrie angesiedelt.
English: Coalbrookdale is a side valley of the Ironbridge Gorge in the borough of Telford and Wrekin and ceremonial county of Shropshire, England, containing a settlement of great significance in the history of ferrous metallurgy. It is in the ancient manor and ecclesiastical parish of Madeley. It was one of the birthplaces of the Industrial Revolution. It is home to the Ironbridge Institute, a partnership between the University of Birmingham and the Ironbridge Gorge Museum Trust offering postgraduate and professional development courses in heritage.
