English: Colored vinyl records were known since the earliest year of the LP, but never gained any market share until the XXI century 'vinyl revival'. Black vinyl is usually deemed superior to colored because (a) black carbon helps with static electricity buildup (b) it makes seeing scratches and warps easier. In all other aspects it's close if not identical. This is not the case with picture disks, which are inherently inferior to black and colored vinyl.
