English: The Crystal Ballroom, named for its crystal chandeliers, is located on the 17th floor of the King Edward Hotel in Toronto and was constructed as part of the hotel's 1921 expansion. During the 1920s, it was the setting for countless balls, parties, weddings, big band dances and other high society affairs. The room was abandoned in the 1950s, and has been left unused in the intervening decades except for occasional use by fly fishermen to practice their casts. It is currently slated for restoration.
