English: A curtain antenna is a type of large multielement directional wire transmitting antenna used in the shortwave bands. They consist of a flat array of wire dipole driven elements suspended in a vertical plane between two towers, usually with a reflector made of a flat vertical "curtain" of parallel wires behind it. They radiate a beam of radio waves at a shallow angle above the horizon, which is reflected by the ionosphere and returns to Earth beyond the horizon. Curtain arrays are used by international shortwave broadcasting stations for skywave broadcasting at transcontinental distances.

Deutsch: Eine Vorhangantenne ist eine Richtantenne, welche üblicherweise für Rundfunksender auf Kurzwelle verwendet wird. Die Vorhangantenne besteht aus einer strahlenden Dipolwand, welche in einem Feld mehrere Dipole umfassen, und einer reflektierenden Wand, und im Aufbau beispielsweise durch entsprechend angeordnete und abgespannte Drahtseile realisiert.
