- Estate now houses the Cayuga Museum of History and Art and Case Research Lab.
- Mansion was built in the Greek Revival style, of brick during in 1836-1843, with Neoclassical style wings added in the late 1880s.
- In the 1910s-1920s, owner, physicist, and inventor Theodore Case developed the Movietone optical sound-on-film method for sound films ("talkies") in a lab and a studio here. They are preserved as a Cinema museum.
