English: Fever coat, or stress coat, occurs when the mother cat is ill with a high fever, has stress, or is on certain medicines during pregnancy. The higher temperature of the womb results in light (white) hair tips in the kittens coat darkening towards the root of the hairs (so the opposite of the silver and smoke effects). After a few months the kittens coat will get its pigmentation back.
