pl:Gallichon or Galichon, a plucked string instruments, is a variation of bass baroque lute. Galichon is sometimes confused with the mandore, a forerunner of the mandolin.
Gallichon appeared around the beginning of the 18th century, probably derives from the earlier varieties baroque lute. He was a day late baroque instrument, a relatively popular in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic in the 18th and 19th centuries, used primarily to carry basso continuo.[1]
